Costume Contest | We are having SO MUCH FUN seeing all your amazing costumes this week! I will share a special newsletter next week with all the fun costumes and the winners of our costume contest!

Syllabus Exam Recap | We had TEN amazing students take their Syllabus exams last weekend – and all passed with flying colors! Be sure to check out the details below and congratulate them in the halls for a job VERY well done!

Thanksgiving Break, Nov 24-28 | There are no classes the week of Thanksgiving. Enjoy this special time with your families!

Hometown Holidays, Dec 5 | We were invited to share a 30 minute set at the downtown Camas Hometown Holidays event! We’ve assembled a team of amazing students that emphasize the study of pop and jazz music in their lessons. We’ll have our location and time shortly – be sure to stop by and say hi!

Ms. Annalisa’s Maternity Leave | We celebrate with Ms. Annalisa as she is officially on MATERNITY LEAVE for her first baby boy! We wish you all the happiness in the world and can’t wait to meet your new bundle of joy. MAJOR THANK YOU to Ms. Brenna for covering Ms. Annalisa’s students while she is on leave. We plan to see Ms. Annalisa back starting in February 🙂

Private Lessons

All Periods Festival, Nov 8-9 (Piano) | We have a record breaking 17 (!!) students participating in the All Periods Festival this year at Portland Piano Company. We are thrilled to be welcoming Dr. Jill Timmons as our Adjudicator this year. Ms Chunghah, Ms Jean, and I look forward to hearing all the learning and progress over the course of the weekend!

Baroque + Classical Festival, Nov 22-23 (Voice) | If you are a voice student and interested in participating in this amazing master class experience with Adjudicator Daniel Mobbs, be sure to reach out to your teacher this week. The registration deadline is Nov 7. The event will be hosted at Elizabeth's Music School!

Christmas Recitals, Week of Dec 15 | Oh yes, 'Tis the Season! :) *If you are a piano student, you will need to sign up on the portal for a recital time. Jessica will also be reaching out this week, if you haven't yet signed up. If you are performing in a BAND, you have been assigned to one of the two band shows. Check the portal to double check your show times!*

Just for Fun
- Ms Elizabeth and the Sakata brothers performed on Sunday at a Music Teachers Association of Clark County fundraising concert! Ms Elizabeth performed with colleagues Debbie Lee and Sarah Lightfoot in a fun and humorous six-hand piece. The Sakata Bros (new band name??) performed a six-hand piece, with Owen never even getting to sit down! :) They ROCKED their performance, so fun to see them shine in a room full of such stellar and trained musicians! My three sons have been taking piano lessons at EMS for the past six years, and it has been an incredible experience for our family. While EMS is an outstanding music school, the recitals and festivals have been especially valuable in helping them build confidence and develop their performance skills. Ms. Elizabeth is exceptionally kind and truly passionate about music education. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and joy for teaching piano are evident in every lesson, and her commitment to her students is unmatched. This program provides and excellent base for a child's musical development. I feel my kids understanding of music theory gained from Let's Play Music will allow them to pursue any instrument they desire in the future. She inspires the kids to be curious and to put in the work. As a lifelong musician myself, I wish I had something like this when I was younger. Our youngest has taken piano lessons for two year and has learned a ton from her teacher (currently Ms. Jean).  Our son just started drum lessons from Mr. Charles a few months ago.
