Parent's Notes

Welcome to March, the beginning of spring, especially on a day like today!

Summer Camps | Summer Camps are officially here and registration is OPEN! Register for all our super fun camps on our website. Most camps can accommodate up to 8-10 students, so go grab your spot! *$25 registration fee waived if registered before April 1st!*

Spring Break | We hope you have lots of fun and relaxing things planned for spring break! Elizabeth’s Music School will be closed March 31st-April 4th.

Private Lessons

Music Literacy Program - Guitar + Piano | Many of our students are taking music literacy assessments over this next week! We take an opportunity once a year to check in with our students regarding important aspects of music literacy, such as sight reading, ear training, and theory. This gives your student an opportunity to show us what they know, and feedback for our teachers on areas to focus more on over the next year! *BONUS: Extra gold seals will be awarded to students' certificates who earn a 96% or higher on their theory exam!* Spring Recitals | Save the Date! Saturday, May 31st at Grace Church in Camas. *If you have siblings that study with multiple teachers, then let us know what recital you prefer to join.*

Students compete in a small master class format and receive valuable feedback from amazing university music professors. Connect with your teacher to start preparing, if you're interested!

Let's Play Music/Sound Beginnings

Just for Fun

Congrats to our students that placed in the Pop/Jazz Festival! Major congrats to our soloists - Brielle (1st place, Ms. Brenna), Quillan (1st place, Mr. Brian), Anna (Honorable Mention, Ms. Brenna)! And several students placed in the ensembles - Angela (1st + 2nd place, Ms. Elizabeth), Thomas (1st + 2nd place, Ms. Elizabeth + Mr. Jake), Michael (1st place, Ms. Anna), Natalie (2nd place, Ms. Anna), and Emily (Honorable Mention, Mr. Jake). You guys were SO fun to watch at the Festival! And so many students leveling up! Congrats to Nathan (Mr. Abraham) for completing Level 3A! And it is the month to pass Level 1 apparently - congrats to Cara and Carter (Mr. Abraham), Hazel and Raksha (Ms. Marcella), and Amelia (Ms. Brienne) for ALL passing Level 1! Extra bonus to Amelia - she ALSO passed her Primer scales this month! Way to go, everyone, we're so proud of you!

My three sons have been taking piano lessons at EMS for the past six years, and it has been an incredible experience for our family. While EMS is an outstanding music school, the recitals and festivals have been especially valuable in helping them build confidence and develop their performance skills. Ms. Elizabeth is exceptionally kind and truly passionate about music education. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and joy for teaching piano are evident in every lesson, and her commitment to her students is unmatched. This program provides and excellent base for a child's musical development. I feel my kids understanding of music theory gained from Let's Play Music will allow them to pursue any instrument they desire in the future. She inspires the kids to be curious and to put in the work. As a lifelong musician myself, I wish I had something like this when I was younger. Our youngest has taken piano lessons for two year and has learned a ton from her teacher (currently Ms. Jean).  Our son just started drum lessons from Mr. Charles a few months ago.
