Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! ‘Tis the season of magical music making and we’re blessed to be making such great music with you all 🙂
Hometown Holidays, Dec 5, 6:30-8pm | We were invited to perform for 90 minutes at the Hometown Holidays event this coming Friday! We have assembled a stellar group of amazing EMS students that practice like crazy and emphasize pop and jazz studies in their private lessons. We hope you swing by and come say hi! We’ll be at the corner of Cedar St and 3rd Ave from 6:30-8pm!
Christmas Recitals, Dec 15-19 | Oh yes, it’s that time of year! There are no private lessons (or SB/LPM classes!) this week. Come enjoy the amazing fruits of your student’s labor and celebrate their hard work at their Christmas recital! Double check your time below and on the student portal!
WA State School for the Blind | If you are attending a recital located at the WA State School for the Blind, navigating the building can be a little daunting! Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to find parking and locate the Fries Auditorium (on the 2nd floor in the Main Hall). Check out the photo attached to the email for additional parking instructions.
Christmas Holiday, Dec 22-Jan 2 | EMS is closed for the holidays. Enjoy this special time with your families!
Inclement Weather Policies – Private Lessons | Winter is coming! In fact, there were some small snow flurries this morning! 🙂 We do NOT cancel classes based on inclement weather, HOWEVER, if you (or your teacher!) feels unsafe driving in current conditions, then classes will be moved to online. Just contact your teacher and let them know you’d like to switch to an online class for that day.
Inclement Weather Policies – SB + LPM | We cannot move a group class to online! If your teacher feels it’s necessary to cancel class that day, we will add an additional class into Spring Semester and update the calendar accordingly.
Upcoming Events | We have lots of Festivals and events coming up in the beginning of the year (see dates below). Many have registration deadlines right after the new year, so be sure to connect with your teacher about choosing repertoire before you go on break!
EMS Expansion, Feb 2026 | We’re moving forward like a freight train on our new expansion, which is scheduled to open February 2026. We’re currently in the final stages of hiring an incredible choir teacher, a drum teacher, a guitar teacher, and a cello teacher! We’ll keep you posted with progress and how you can start pre-booking 🙂
